Imagine waking up to find your personal information—your email, phone number, even your address—plastered all over the internet. It sounds terrifying, right? That’s the reality of doxxing, an emerging threat in the digital world.

Unfortunately, most states don’t have specific laws against it. While there are related charges like stalking or harassment, the best thing you can do right now is take steps to protect yourself.

A 2024 study by SafeHome.org found that over 90% of web users are worried about doxxing—and for good reason. It happens everywhere: gaming platforms, comment sections, group chats, and forums. The problem? A lot of risky online habits—like posting your location, school info, or even your birthday—have become so normal that most people don’t even think twice before sharing.

But here’s the good news: you can take control. Being smart about what you post, adjusting your privacy settings, and spreading awareness can make a huge difference. Tons of influencers and orgs on Instagram and TikTok are already sharing tips on how to stay safe and help others do the same. And hey—you’re already here on NoFiltr, which means you’ve got access to a ton of resources to help you (and your friends) level up your digital safety.

The internet is what we make it. Every smart choice you make and every conversation you start helps build a safer, better online world for everyone. Let’s do this together. 🚀
