NoFiltr Youth Innovation Council (YIC) Program Coordination Consultant

Help run NoFiltr's Youth Innovation Council — a program built to give young people real leadership and innovation experience. Paid, remote, and built for someone early in their career who's organized, thoughtful, and good with people.

About the Role

You'll be the glue that keeps the Council running.

This role is about coordination, not just admin — you'll plan sessions, keep the program organized, support communications with Council members, and help pull off milestone events like the Capstone Showcase and End of Cohort Celebration. You'll have real ownership over how you get things done, as long as deadlines, sessions, and safeguarding standards are met.

Scope of Work

What your work will encompass...

Program coordination & tracking

Build and maintain a plan covering key milestones, deadlines, and dependencies. Keep attendance, progress, and portfolio trackers current, and flag risks early.

Sessions & milestone events

Prep agendas and materials, support or facilitate Wednesday sessions, and send recap notes after each one. Coordinate logistics for the guest series, Capstone Reflection and Showcase, and End of Cohort Celebration.

Communications

Support Council members through approved channels and co-moderate group spaces following safeguarding guidelines.

Materials & reporting

Maintain decks, agendas, and trackers, and deliver a monthly status report summarizing progress, upcoming milestones, and open items.

What we're looking for

You don't need a resume full of "consulting" experience.

This role is a great fit for a recent grad or graduate student. We're more interested in how you think and organize than a specific job title.

  • Experience working with young people — camp counseling, tutoring, mentoring, RA/TA work, coaching, or similar
  • Some experience coordinating projects, planning events, or facilitating meetings, formal or informal
  • Comfort managing recurring deadlines with limited day-to-day supervision
  • Good judgment and discretion, especially in sensitive moments
  • Familiarity with tools like Discord, Google Workspace, Typeform, or Asana — or comfort picking up new tools quickly
  • Ability to commit to Wednesday evening sessions and ~10 hrs/week through June 2027

Working with young people means a few things are non-negotiable

Because this role involves direct contact with minors, whoever we bring on must complete a background check and youth-safeguarding training before starting, and follow NoFiltr's safeguarding and communication requirements throughout the engagement.

You'll also need general liability insurance in place before your start date. This typically runs $20–45/month for freelancers, and NoFiltr reimburses the cost. We'll walk you through exactly how to set it up if you're selected.
